As a Senior Consultant at BlastX Consulting, you will serve as a trusted CDP strategist and hands-on practitioner, helping clients unlock the full value of their customer data platforms. You will lead the strategy, configuration, and activation of CDP solutions. You will bring deep expertise in Adobe Real-Time CDP and working experience across other CDPs, such as Tealium, Hightouch, and others. You will drive project success by ensuring the quality of deliverables, driving measurable outcomes, and contributing thought leadership to the firm and the industry.

Primary Responsibilities

  • You will take ownership of CDP-focused client engagements, delivering strategic and technical solutions that drive real business outcomes through customer data activation.
  • Lead CDP strategy engagements, including platform selection assessments, architecture reviews, use case prioritization, and activation roadmaps aligned with client business goals. 
  • Configure, optimize, and govern CDP platforms, including schema design, audience segmentation, identity resolution, merge policies, and destination activation. 
  • Design and execute audience activation strategies across marketing, advertising, and personalization destinations, ensuring data flows correctly from CDP to downstream platforms. 
  • Advise clients on data governance, privacy compliance (consent management, data retention policies), and identity strategies. 
  • Collaborate with clients to develop CDP maturity roadmaps, including phased approaches for real-time personalization, cross-channel orchestration, look-a-like modeling, and AI-driven audience discovery. 
  • Author detailed scopes of work, solution design documents, and technical specifications for CDP implementation and optimization projects. 
  • Ensure alignment with the scope of work outlined in client contracts by proactively managing deliverables, identifying potential blockers, communicating them to stakeholders, and leading efforts to resolve issues while maintaining client expectations. 
  • Review and validate deliverables, ensuring accuracy, functionality, and alignment with client expectations. 
  • Mentor team members by reviewing their work, providing constructive feedback, and offering guidance on best practices in CDP configuration, audience strategy, and data activation. 
  • Deliver training sessions and enablement workshops for client teams on topics such as audience segmentation, real-time personalization, and CDP platform operations. 
  • Implement CDP practice optimizations, such as standardized audience naming conventions, QA processes, and reusable activation templates, to enhance efficiency across client engagements. 
  • Contribute thought leadership through blog posts, webinars, or case studies on CDP-related topics, such as first-party data strategies, privacy-centric personalization, and AI-driven audience optimization. 
  • Stay current on CDP market trends, emerging platforms (e.g., composable CDPs, reverse ETL tools), and evolving privacy regulations, and recommend their practical application within client solutions. 

Desired Knowledge, Skills, & Qualifications

This is a seasoned professional role requiring deep CDP expertise, strategic thinking, and the leadership skills to guide both client teams and internal teams through complex data activation engagements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience). 
  • 5+ years of experience in CDP strategy, configuration, activation, and strategic client management within a consulting or agency environment. 
  • Deep hands-on experience with Adobe Real-Time CDP, including profile unification, segment builder, destinations, edge segmentation, and activation workflows. 
  • Working experience with additional CDP platforms such as Tealium, Hightouch, or similar tools, with the ability to apply CDP concepts across vendors and lead CDP evaluations. 
  • Strong understanding of audience strategy, including segmentation design, identity resolution, consent-based activation, and real-time vs. batch use cases. 
  • Experience integrating CDPs with downstream activation platforms such as marketing automation, advertising platforms, personalization engines, and CRM systems. 
  • Familiarity with data governance frameworks, privacy regulations, and consent management as they relate to CDP operations. Experience with analytics tools (e.g., Adobe Analytics, Adobe CJA, GA4, Amplitude, etc) and tag management systems (e.g., Adobe Tags, Tealium iQ, Google Tag Manager) is a plus but not required. 
  • Proven ability to create and oversee comprehensive project documentation, including solution design references, scopes of work, detailed estimates, and resource plans for complex, multi-phase CDP projects. 
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with experience guiding junior team members to achieve project goals. 
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills for translating business objectives into CDP use cases, audience strategies, and activation plans. 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for presenting insights and collaborating with clients. 
  • Awareness of emerging CDP trends including composable architectures, reverse ETL (e.g., Hightouch, Census), AI-driven audience optimization, and evolving privacy landscapes, with the ability to recommend practical applications.

To succeed in this role, the Senior Consultant, CDP Strategy & Activation should demonstrate: 

CDP Platform Mastery — Demonstrates authoritative, hands-on command of CDP platforms, particularly Adobe Real-Time CDP. Can independently configure, troubleshoot, and optimize platform components without relying on vendor support for routine issues. Translates platform capabilities into practical client solutions. 

Strategic Advisory — Operates as a trusted advisor to client stakeholders, not just a technical implementer. Connects CDP capabilities to measurable business outcomes (revenue, retention, acquisition efficiency) and frames recommendations in the language of the client's business, not just the technology. 

Cross-Platform Fluency — Applies CDP principles (identity resolution, audience design, activation architecture) across vendors rather than being locked into a single platform's paradigm. Can credibly evaluate and recommend across Adobe RT-CDP, Tealium, Hightouch, and emerging tools. 

Audience Strategy Thinking — Goes beyond segment building to design holistic audience frameworks by thinking through identity graphs, consent hierarchies, suppression logic, and activation sequencing as interconnected systems rather than isolated configurations. 

Client Engagement Ownership — Takes full accountability for engagement quality, timeline, and client satisfaction. Proactively surfaces risks, manages scope, and navigates difficult conversations with clients when tradeoffs are required. 

Communication & Translation — Bridges the gap between technical architecture and business stakeholders. Can present a schema design decision to a CMO as clearly as to a data engineer, adjusting depth and framing for the audience. 

Mentorship & Knowledge Sharing — Actively elevates the team's CDP capabilities through structured mentoring, documentation of reusable patterns, and willingness to teach rather than just execute. 

Curiosity & Continuous Learning — Stays ahead of an evolving CDP landscape. Independently tracks platform releases, emerging categories (composable CDP, reverse ETL), and brings those insights back to the team and clients proactively. 

This is a full-time remote opportunity. We currently have teammates located all across the country in 24 different states and internationally. Don’t get us wrong, we love to explore. However, due to the nature of our consulting agency, you must reside in your home location and digital nomads will not be considered. 

You Will Work With

This role involves working closely with our Vice President, Technology Solutions, Consulting Leaders, Consultants, Project Managers, Growth team members and other subject matter experts.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary Range: $120,0000 - $160,00.00 USD annually DOE
